Learn all about tool care and maintenance to ensure best performance in your garden or orchard. Together, we will explore:
How to select quality tools.
The mechanisms of how tools wear.
How and when to touch-up or sharpen a tool.
A basic understanding of lubrication and protective coatings.
Care of edged tools, such as pruning shears, loppers, knives, machetes.
Care of non-cutting tools such as shovels, forks, hand-spades, etc.
Care of toothed tools - brief overview of sharpening, benefits of replacement blades, etc.
Maintenance, cleaning, & disinfecting tips.
Please note this workshop is a popular one and fills up fast!
What to bring:
One pair of dull pruning shears or a knife in need of sharpening.
Reading glasses if you typically need them, we will be doing "close-up" work.
