Summer Pruning Figs for Size Control: Tuesday, August 13 • 11am-1pm

from $40.00

Are your figs out of reach?!

Join us in the HOEC Community Orchard for this hands-on workshop, where you will learn proper summer pruning techniques specifically for growing fig trees in the Pacific Northwest. It’s important to know when and on what part of the plant your fig will produce fruit before you prune. Summer pruning of figs (especially more vigorous varieties!) will help maintain size and ensure light and airflow to your developing fruits.

  • Eye protection (safety glasses or goggles); fig sap is toxic and can damage the eyes!

  • If you have them, please bring bypass hand pruners, loppers, and a pruning saw. If you do not, you may borrow from our stash.

  • All workshops are held outdoors rain or shine. Please dress for the weather.

Refunds:

We look forward to learning with you!
