Summer Workshop Series: Pruning Figs for Size Control • Saturday August 30th, 2025 • 11am-11pm
Are your fig trees getting out of control?
Join us in the HOEC Community Orchard for this hands-on workshop, where you will learn proper summer pruning techniques specifically for growing fig trees in the Pacific Northwest. It’s important to prune your figs (especially more vigorous varieties) in the summer to help maintain the size and shape that keeps them manageable. Students will receive guided hands-on practice that will help build the confidence necessary to successfully tackle their own trees at home.
Know before you go:
Eye protection (safety glasses or goggles); fig sap is toxic and can damage the eyes!
If you have them, please bring bypass hand pruners, loppers, and a pruning saw. If you do not, you may borrow from our stash.
All workshops are held outdoors rain or shine. Please dress for the weather.
Bring your own water bottle.
Refunds:
Due to limited class space, please note: workshops are non-refundable after purchase with the exception of weather related campus closures.
We look forward to learning with you!
