Have you been growing fruit for a while, but haven’t found the trick to producing consistent, tasty fruit from year to year? Maybe you're wondering why your tree drops fruit onto the ground before it’s ripe, or only produces fruit every other year? Maybe you want to know what more you can do to help protect your fruit from pest and disease damage? In many of these cases, the answer comes back to…Fruitlet-Thinning!

Join us in the HOEC Community Orchard to learn about this very important task in the best way we know how: with some hands-on experience!

Space for this FREE event is Unlimited, but please register in advance by “purchasing” a free spot below so that we know to expect you!

All participants are welcome to take home mini fruitlets to make their own apple pectin! Come for any amount of time - no need to stay all the way from 10a-1p

Know before you go:

  • If you have them, please bring sharp-pointed thinning snips or scissors; if you don’t, you can borrow from our stash!

  • This educational event will be held outside, rain or shine, so make sure to dress for the weather!
